Alonissos (62 nautical miles from Volos)

An oblong island with a precipitous northwestern coastline and a hilly landscape. Alonissos has only 10 km of road, so the best way of getting around is by boat.

The center of the island has submerged, leaving two small islands and several smaller ones still. Here is the area of the Mediterranean Monk Seal, an endangered species protected by Greek and International Law.
